After reading your site, I took my daughter and a friend to Terry's this past Friday. I would definitely give it a good chicken rating (maybe 4 drugsticks out of 5). I ordered the 2 wings and catfish filet for $5.99. Both were nicely breaded with really good flavor. If I were in the area and wanted some good fried chicken, Terry's would be the place to stop. (I live in Northwest and drove quite a ways to get there, but I wanted to check the place out so I didn't mind.)
If I'm downtown and want chicken, now I know I can swing by for a stop at Terry's.
I want to warn people that the interior decor is plain (formica counter type dining on bar stools) but don't let that put you off. The food is good. There was a couple in there eating when we arrived and I overheard them saying how good everything tasted.
My daughter ordered the popcorn shrimp with fries and hush puppies and basically picked over it: too much breading and not enough shrimp. Also, they give you a lot of fries. Next time I might ask what substitutes there are for the fries. The cole slaw in a cup that came with the shrimp: hated it. Seems like it was way past its prime. Don't know how long it had been in the fridge, but it wasn't good. The roll that came with was just so-so. None of us ate the rolls.
But it really is all about the chicken. When I ordered I asked if it was a freshly fried batch and they said it was. It was still steaming hot when we pulled it out of the bag.
